SIx New Knit-A-Longs!

Below are photos and information about our Winter 2012 Knit-A-Longs that begin now.

Prizes!

For this set of KALs we are going to have prizes, lots of prizes (we're still amassing the collection but promise they'll be great)!  For that reason, we must have some ground rules:

1. This series of Knit-A-Longs begin immediately.
2. Projects must be completed by Saturday, April 7th, our Fifth Anniversary, in order to be qualify for a prize.  Winners will be drawn that day.
3. You must use yarn purchased at Bloomin Yarns.
4. We'll draw one winning name for each separate project.

We have a few ways to increase your chances of winning a prize:
1. Join Ravelry = one chance to win. Not sure about Ravelry.com? Read this awesome review.
2. Add your project to your Ravelry page (must include all details - yarn, needle, link to Bloomin Yarns) = one chance to win.
3. Add a photo to your Ravelry project page = another chance to win!
4. Wear your project to the store on April 7th = one more chance to win!
Here they are:
1.  Rocky Coast Cardigan from the book Coastal Knits - available at Bloomin Yarns.
Janice is making her Rocky Coast with The Fibre Company's Organik, the yarn called for in the pattern.  We have several other nice options for this sweater should you like to join us!
Here's the start of my Rocky Coast, also in Organik, a beautiful single ply blend of Wool, Alpaca and Silk .

2.  Aidez - available free at Berroco.com.  Sandy made her Aidez with Berroco's Peruvia Quick which is the yarn called for in the pattern.  Sorry, this color, Oat, will not be available until the end of February:(  Sandy wears her Aidez ALL the time, so if you'd like to see it hurry before she claims it!!

Isn't the back lovely?
3.  Iced is available free at Knitty.com.  Judy made hers with Berroco Peruvia Quick a perfect substitute for the yarn called for in this pattern.
4.  Cowl-Neck Cape - Knit Simple Magazine, Holiday 2011.  Cathy made her Cowl-Neck Cape with Berroco's Blackstone Tweed.  This pattern calls for a worsted wt. yarn. We have tons of options should you want to make this project!

5. Caramel - a free pattern available here.  I first saw one of our customers, Marilyn, wearing this sweater before Christmas. (I wish I'd taken her picture!)  She had made it with Madelinetosh Sock in pink and orange.  It was stunning and I've been dreaming of it ever since!!  The great thing about this sweater is that the gauge is 22 stitches/4 inches.  You can use a DK wt. yarn, or lighter - as long as you can get gauge!!
I'm making mine with Madelinetosh Pashmina (sport wt.) in subtle stripes of Winter Wheat and Olivia.
Janice has been considering using three colors in different sized stripes.  So creative!  She's been swatching away!
6. Honey's Shawl - a single pattern available at Bloomin Yarns.  This shawl is pure fun!  Great for a beginner.  You'll learn increases and how to knit stripes, then at the end knit a mohair ruffle.  The color options are endless!
Janice is nearing the end!
I just got mine started, below.  And Sandy has one in progress too!

We hope you'll join us!

Our KAL meeting times are:
Wednesdays 2:00-4:00
Thursdays 6:00-9:00
Saturdays 2:00-4:00
